Raamat jutustab traagilise saatusega andeka kunstniku Eduard Timbermanni (1905–1935) loo.
Timbermannist kujunes Pallases Ado Vabbe õpilasena enese suhtes nõudlik ja iseseisev kunstnik, kelle loomingus tõusevad esile akvarellid, milles avalduvad vaoshoitud tundlikkus, vormiline selgus ja eriline värvimeel.
Lisaks ülevaatele elukäigust ja loomingulisest kujunemisest leiab lugeja raamatust Eduard Timbermanni märkmed, kaasõpilaste mälestused, teoste loetelu, näituste nimekirja ning rohkelt fotomaterjali ja teoste reproduktsioonid.
The book tells the story of Eduard Timbermann (1905–1935), a gifted artist whose promising career was cut short at an early age. As a student of Ado Vabbe at the Pallas Art School, Timbermann developed into a demanding and independent artist, distinguished above all by his watercolours, which reveal a restrained sensitivity, formal clarity, and an exceptional sense of colour.
In addition to an overview of his life and artistic development, the book includes Eduard Timbermann’s notes, recollections by his fellow students, a catalogue of his works, a list of exhibitions, as well as a wealth of photographic material and reproductions of his artworks.
